Solar panels are important but just one part of the wide array of solar pump inverter as the complete system helps in producing energy from sunlight. Inverters are a very essential component because of technological advancements.
What are Solar Inverters?
A solar inverter helps in converting direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) with the help of solar energy. Mostly all the homes use AC rather than DC energy. But it is not safe to use DC energy in homes because most of the gadgets are plugged in and potentially catch fire.
This would result in appliances such as computers, power strips, TVs, entertainment systems, home security devices, and a whole host of other electronics causing a fire. Solar arrays are used as an inverter to change the DC to AC, which is 100% safe for home usage.
Solar inverters are of many types such as single-phase solar pump inverters, three-phase solar pump inverters, etc.
How Do Solar Inverters Work?
The solar process is very simple as it begins with sunshine and causes a reaction within the solar panel. This reaction is what produces direct current (DC). However, the DC should not be used in homes as they are not safe and until it passes through an inverter which turns it from DC to AC, it can be dangerous.
Types of Solar Inverters
1. Standard String Inverters
They are also known as central inverters. The smaller solar arrays could be used as a standard string inverter. When this happens, a string of solar panels forms a circuit in which the DC energy flows from each panel into a wiring harness that helps them in connecting them all to a single inverter.
The inverter then helps in changing the DC energy into AC energy. Most standard string inverters are used in homes, garages, or near the power meter if the house connects to the power grid.
2. Optimized String Inverters
Optimized string inverters are also known as power-optimized string inverters. These inverters consist of two parts. The first part is the power optimizer, which takes care of DC to DC and also helps in optimizing or conditioning the solar panel's power. There is one power optimizer per solar panel which helps in keeping the flow of energy equal.
For example, a standard string inverter produces less energy and all the solar panels in that string will also produce less energy. With the power optimizer, each solar panel produces energy, and when that energy reaches the optimized threshold, the power optimizer sends it to the Inverter.
3. Micro Inverters
A micro inverter is very beneficial as it helps in converting DC to AC at the panel level. They differ from power optimizer because it only deals with DC. The micro inverter installation occurs on each panel.
Some of these may be factory or physically installed on-site, and there is not any central inverter on a solar array with micro inverters. The energy conversion occurs at the micro-inverter which is on the roof of each solar panel.
Conclusion
A solar inverter helps in converting direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) with the help of solar energy. Solar inverters are widely used because of the amazing benefits that it provides. You should be careful while finding a high-frequency solar inverter manufacturer because you need to find someone who offers good quality products at a reasonable price.
